Align yourself with the world

After an afternoon aligning too much stuff in Flash I had this idea. I like this concept of aligning with the world. It has lots of meanings that you can take from it, from saving our world to help your fellow man. Please let me know your readings of this poster on the comments.

Failing in Copenhagen

I’ve just read this amazing article by Mark Lynas on the Guardian website about the Copenhagen Summit.

I did this poster about it. It just makes me very angry that politics is placed before our rights as humans and the survival of the Earth as we know it.

What type of life shall we have?

This is another great photograph from NASA. With pictures like this designing something is soooo easy!!!!

Since COP15 is on the run I thought I might show how life on this planet hangs from (literally) a thin blue line. On the picture you can see just how small in proportion the atmosphere is and to imagine that in there lies all the we need to live.

What’s it worth?

It’s still so worth it!

After a long time feeling drain out and with nothing to say here, I’ve found this amazing typeface from my friend Network Osaka. I really admire his work (you can check it here) and this typeface just ‘made’ me do something with it. I shall experiment with it a lot more. I just hope that you don’t judge BIG BONED typeface by this work and give it a go yourself. It’s shared for download on Network Osaka’s site.

Trial&Error

trial-and-error

Here at whatype we’ve been working on a new project. It’s going to be a digital publication, the idea behind is that each issue tells one or two stories at the same time. We’ll invite both a photographer or illustrator and a writer and give them complete creative liberty to work as they like. By making them work together we expect that sometimes the ‘visual side’ will decide on the story to be told, other times it will be the other way around. Either way they can do as they please. In the end whatype will design the story and publish it on-line, as a book/magazine.

Here is an example of the experiments we’ve been doing for this project. We are mixing Helvetica with Garamond and loving it. Hope you like this also. Keep posted for further news.

What type of Twitter are you?

finally

Well, this was one of Joana’s posts; a couple of days ago. We though this could make a neat poster. Even if we don’t really know what this one would stand for….. Any ideas?

It’s always about the music

music

This is a set of posters I’ve done about 4 different albums that where (are) really important for me and my loving of music. Each one was discovered in a different time of my life and showed me something more, something new.

Each part of this image is meant to be a poster by itself, all share the same template based on the golden proportion and the different type sizes relate by using the Fibonacci series.

What type of reading is yours?

Just wanted to play around spaces and do an old fashioned WHAT TYPE poster.
